 | >> Performance of Community Relations Activities | Placing importance on solving environmental problems to enhance the quality of life for an industrial estate’s surrounding community and to build public acceptance for the organization, I-EA-T implemented 60 community relations projects with industrial estate developers, 48 projects with local government, 44 projects with academic institutions and 40 projects with surrounding community in 2006. These projects included:
1) Blood Donation Project I-EA-T executives and employees, together with business operators in industrial estates, organize annual blood donation campaigns as merit making to celebrate the birthdays of HM the King and Queen. The project aims to provide the Thai Red Cross Society with an adequate blood supply for patients and victims of disasters.
2) Flood Victim Assistance Program I-EA-T, in cooperation with the Thai Industrial Estate Foundation, industrial estate developers and industrial operators, donated money and goods to assist flood victims in northern Thailand. Money was donated through the Royal Thai Air Force and goods through the Ministry of Interior’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
3) Sports Day / Anti-Drugs / Sports for Youth Projects I-EA-T, led by industrial estate offices and industrial operators, has initiated ‘Sports Day’, ‘Anti-Drugs’ and ‘Sports for Youth’ projects to foster unity and relationships among industrial operators, to contribute to the prevention and solving of drug-related problems in factories and to improve health and well-being.
4) ‘Industrial Estate: the Community Learning Center’ Project Industrial estate offices joined forces with factories on industrial estates in the development of the ‘Industrial Estate: the Community Learning Center’ project to offer an opportunity for students at all levels, government officials, state-enterprise staff and community members to visit industrial estates and factories to learn about industrial estate management and manufacturing technologies.
5) Buddhist Youth Camp Project Bangplee Industrial Estate Office has strengthened relationship with schools and community around the estate through various activities that encourage youth to have positive attitudes towards themselves and to play an important role in country’s future development.
In commemoration of HM the King’s 60th Anniversary of His Accession to the Throne, Bangplee Industrial Estate Office, together with schools, temples, industrial operators and community in the area, organized the ‘Buddhist Youth Camp’ project to: - Train students to have positive thinking and wisdom based on conscience and concentration - Protect and maintain Buddhism - Educate participating youth to become good citizens and role models for younger generations - Mitigate social problems caused by drug use and a lack of morality among youth
6) Social and Religious Activities I-EA-T and industrial estate offices, in cooperation with governmental units, local administrative organizations and community surrounding industrial estates, have continually organized and participated in religious activities to preserve local culture and traditions for future generations to cherish and pass on.
7) Tree-Planting Project I-EA-T, led by industrial estate offices, together with governmental units, schools and community in the area, planted trees to mark HM the King’s 80th Birthday in 2007.
8) Scholarship-Granting Activities I-EA-T, in cooperation with industrial developers and partners, awarded scholarships to students in financial need and with a good academic record, thereby providing them with opportunities to pursue higher studies. |
